In A Tree - when spring comes

Public commission at the University Hospital Karolinska in Stockholm at the oncology section, 2009.

In the waiting room there are Swedish forest birds surrounding the persons waiting, casted in bone china and lit up from inside.

In the corridor leading in to the treatment room there are large scale branches, also they made in bone china, illuminating the space.

The treatment room has lights in the ceiling, covered with cherry blossoms, a vague light is programmed to resamble the sun wandering

throuh the branches. Here is also music playing, composed from the songs of Swedish forest birds.

The intention with this installation was to create a meditative and positive atmosphere for both the patients and the personell.

This section has the name "Holken" today, meaning bird's nest.
